Valves and Their Applications

This blog will look at the various uses and types of Valves. A Valve: What Is It? The body (the outer shell), the trim (a group of changeable wetted components), the stem, the bonnet, and an actioning mechanism are the most important mechanical components that go into making a valve (manual lever, gear or actuator). Cast body materials are used in commercial valves larger than 2 inches in diameter; forged steel bodies are used in valves with smaller bore sizes (typically 2 inches) or that require high pressure and temperature resistance. Ball Valves are the most commonly used valves. Valves are one of the most important parts of any fluid-related system. They are fundamentally devices that open and close routes in piping systems to control fluid flow. Valves are used in almost every industrial operation because of how they work, including those that treat sewage and water, generate electricity, irrigate crops, process oil, gas, and petroleum, manufacture c...
